Staycation - And A New Firepit

After we returned from our European Vacation, we took some time in our own backyard.  With a little staycation.  That also allowed us to take on a small DIY project with the building of a gravel firepit area that makes the BEST s'mores.  Here I am enjoying some quiet time in the yard - one of my favorite places.

Father's Day Breakfast - 2017

The kids surprised me with a "Hidden Mickey" breakfast in bed and some special-made lists of what they think of the things that I love!  All three had the same answer for 2 questions: 1.  What is Daddy's favorite food?  Pizza. 2.  What is Daddy's favorite store?  Menards! I am the luckiest guy around.  An amazing, loving, caring wife.  And three better than I can believe amazing, growing, smart, brave children.  Those two things aren't a coincidence.  They're because of the job Natalie is doing with all of us! Here's a Father's Day post from 2013 .

Jake's 38th Birthday - Blowing Out the Candle

In what has become a bit of a tradition, here's the kids helping me blow out the candle on my birthday cake cookie this morning.  Star Wars theme, FTW! Here's the same photo from last year .  Different house.  Bigger Frank.  Ellie with longer hair.  And growing fast SD.

The Kids Help Dadoo Blow Out His Birthday Candles (37!)

All three kids lent a hand at blowing out my 'breakfast candle' in the morning at our house... ...And...Ellie and SD gave me some help blowing out the candles on the cake Nat made at Barnaby's at night... Can't be better bookend birthday moments than those, right?!?
