A White Sox Game and Star Wars Night - 2017

Over the weekend, we packed up the Big Beef and the girls along with their cousin (who is recently returned from a two year stay in Switzerland) and took them down to Comiskey Park to take in a White Sox vs. Detroit Tigers game.  Turns out, it was Star Wars night and we kind of lucked into a really fun experience for all of us. The kids have been to baseball games before including the Kane County Cougars game Eloise took us all to earlier this Spring and even to White Sox games in the past.   Here is SD and Eloise all the way back in 2013 at their very first baseball game to see the White Sox .   And here's a video of SD in 2015 at the White Sox game in the Fundamentals area where she raced against Scott Podsednik . And last year, during the Chicago Cubs historic, World Series run, we took all three kids to their very first Cubs game at Wrigley Field .  Nat was in heaven then.  Because of my White Sox fandom (Thanks to my Dad!) and the ease of parking/navig...

Go Cubs Go!

We're a divided house.  I'm a White Sox fan.  Nat is a die hard Cubs fan.  And with the Cubs being the best team in baseball and not just being in the World Series but also winning it, the excitement has been contagious with our kids.  Just look at the three of them wearing their Cubs gear.  Nat was so happy to share this fun experience with them.   Ellie stayed up late on a couple of games to take it all in.  And the song "Go Cubs Go" was being sung all around the house.  Even Frankie sings it! But, Nat's excitement wasn't just about the Cubs winning, it was about having Grampy see *his* team, the Cubs, who he's watched for 90 years finally win the whole thing.  So, Nat and Aunt Sisi and Grammy along with SD went out to get Grampy Ray a "W Flag" to fly at his house in the South Suburbs. Here's SD and her Great Grampy 'Flying the W'! And here's SD with Grammy and her dad out front of his house.  How happy was he that...

SD Races Scott Podsednik At Comisky Park

At White Sox games, they have an area called "Fundamentals" up in left field that allows kids to take on some of the facets of baseball.  From fielding grounders and hitting in the cages to running the bases. Our little SD took to the test track and raced Scott Podsednik from the World Champion White Sox.  Check her out!  She started fast, but he caught up at the end.
