Egg Dying, Easter and the Egg Hunt - 2015 Edition

2015 was the first Easter season as a family of five for us Parrillos.  Topper was right in there with his sisters as you can see from the photo above with all three kids wearing their bunny ears.   Easter for us started about a week ago when we went to Ellie's school for an egg hunt.  Ellie and Sadie both got involved and we were able to spend some time with Ellie's teacher (Mrs. Estes - who Eloise just absolutely adores! and some of her classmates.  See the animated photo below for a peek at the girls and some of Ellie's classmates.   Then later in the week, the girls spent some time coloring their own eggs.  We blew some out and hard-boiled some and both the girls made their favorite color (For Ellie it was all pink all the time.  For SD, she went with mostly blues!) The Easter season culminated as it always does on Easter.  After opening our own baskets and going to Church in town, we went down to my sister's house (down...

Easter 2016 At Sea Island

This year, we were able to spend the Easter holiday down at one of our favorite places in the world on Sea Island.  We've been to Sea Island before back in late summer of 2012 when Sadie was just brand new and we took her to see the ocean for the first time with the entire Moran clan .  This was the first time that our family was away from OUR family back in Elmhurst.  While we certainly missed them and missed some of the traditions (Can you say 'lamb cake' and Uncle Marc's ham??), Sea Island treated us right and we were greeted with some mighty fine southern hospitality and pretty awesome weather.   The trip included plenty of pool time.  Frankie didn't mind that one bit.   And neither did Sadie.  While she wasn't big enough to go down the big slide, she did get a little hot tub action. And beach/playground time. As part of our trip, we spent a lot of time hanging out at the resort and they're very pretty grounds.   And we...

Easter 2013

Easter this year was a full-family affair.  From waking up and 'finding' Easter baskets with the girls to walking down the block to my sister's place for brunch with the Parrillos to an afternoon and dinner with Morans in Naperville, we were able to do it all and see everyone. The morning started with Easter baskets at our house. After that, we went down to play with Ellie and Sadie's cousins at "Kiki's" house where they had a very challenging Egg Hunt - and one of my personal favorites - Monkey Bread.   Last year, we went to the Elmhurst Easter Egg Hunt and you can see how much Ellie has grown . Easter 2013 ended in Naperville with a visit to Grammie and Granddad's place where the girls were able to spend time with their Uncles and Great Grampy! Egg Dying, Easter and the Easter Egg Hunts (2014)

Easter this year seemed like it came and went really fast.  We kicked off the festivities with an Easter Egg dying earlier this week, then transitioned to the annual Egg Hunt on Saturday in town where both girls came up with baskets FULL of eggs.   Just like last year ....They both really wanted to wear their bunny ears all day, too!  ( check out last year's post to see both girls in their ears to see how much they've grown in just one year!) On Easter, we woke up and the girls scrambled around the house trying to find out where their baskets were hidden.  After church, we hosted my family (minus a few who were on vacation in NYC!) for brunch and another 'hunt' with most of Eloise and Sadie's cousins.  After everyone left and a short nap (for me AND SD), we went to the Morans for even more ham and potato salad...and family.
