We snuck back to the Happiest Place on Earth this Spring, right after our stop in Sea Island, Georgia for Easter. These trips are so much for for our family of five and each time to Disney World is different as we try different things including resorts, experiences, and adventures.
We arrived and NOT everyone was feeling well, so Nat stayed behind with SD, while I took Frank and Ellie out on an adventure all our own. Here's Ellie and Frankie hamming it up on the Monorail on our ride from the Polynesian to the Magic Kingdom:
Frankie and his old man taking in one of the lines for Dumbo.
And the three of us crowded into an elephant and rode Dumbo!
And the teacups. Frank wasn't super impressed.
But he seemed to love the frozen drink called LeFew's Brew from Gaston's Tavern.
Later that day, Sadie was feeling better and joined us with Nat.
One of the things that makes each of these Disney trips unique is that we always try to find new things to do. I know, I know. We've been a bunch of times, and you guys are probably wondering *what* we are doing. But, I gotta tell you: each trip is different and new. Case in point: This time, we signed both girls up for haircuts at the Barbershop on MainStreet USA.
Here's sister Sadie with her "First haircut" ears right after getting a really small trim.
And...if you look REALLY closely at this photo below, right under the 'p' in Shop, you'll see our little Ellie sitting in the chair getting a trim.
Here she is in the seat:
Nothing like a little bit of pixie dust to make a girl feel special!
While we were there, we hit up the Epcot Flower and Garden show. It was pretty awesome. Wish we spent more time there.
And we just *had* to meet some characters, right?
Here's SD and I riding Spaceship Earth @ Epcot.
They had this massive sand castle set up to promote the new movie 'The Jungle Book'. Pretty impressive.
We made it to Hollywood Studios where they're currently building the new Star Wars land. We were there on the very last weekend for the old "Streets of America". Some of it was already behind walls, but I took Frankie over there while we waited for Nat and the girls to get off of Star Tours. It was totally empty. Figured...had to take one last shot on this street before they tear it down. If Frankie becomes 1/10th of the Disney fan that I've (somehow?!?!) become, he'll think this photo is pretty neat - as it shows him some place in a Disney Park that just doesn't exist any longer.
One of the 'new' things that we tried this trip was a visit to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and dinner at Sanaa. Here's SD and Frankie both passed out in the stroller right before dinner.
Ellie caught a little nap, too! While we waited for our table.
The bread service there. Have we talked about the bread service?!?!? Well...it was awesome. And you think Frankie liked the dips?!?!
We ended the trip back at the Magic Kingdom where we enjoyed some new things, too! Including...showing up early for Rope Drop. Here's the girls early in the am right before the park opens. Pretty great showing up early.
And we got to meet one of our favorites: Mary Poppins!
And, being Spring, they had these flowers out. This one is named Rosie.
And Rafiki from the Lion King.
And of course, Mickey! He's now talking and interacting with you at the Main Street USA theatre.
SD's favorite Ariel greeted us in her Grotto.
SD and her new snuggle pal Kion showed everyone how to 'ROAR'!
And Ellie with her new pal Todd outside of the Skipper Canteen.
We ended the trip with some Mickey Waffles at Captain Cook's. This was our third time at the Polynesian and the BEST time yet!
